I use a compressor to drive my computerized mat cutter and have had to put up with the shattering sound of regular compressors for several years because I could not afford to buy a Silent Aire or any of the other "silent compressors".
The APC4406 cycles on and off without disturbing my customers and contributes a lot to the peace and quiet of my custom frame shop.
The price is right, delivery was fast, and I am a happy Amazon customer.
2.) Great Compressor!

Wow! What a great compressor. It is very quiet for an air compressor. It's rated at 55 db, and I believe it. It's quiet enough for me to use it indoors to provide pressure to my Magma Star bullet luber/sizer. I ran it for over 15 minutes as per the manual for a break-in period, and it never got so hot as to be uncomfortable. Of the two pressures indicators, the left dial shows the tank pressure, while the right dial shows the output pressure. The black knob in the center is used to adjust the output pressure. Fit and finish of my unit is excellent. I highly recommend it, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I own a Gunsmith shop located in my home. I purchased this air compressor, since I wanted a quiet one. I was pleasingly surprised when I first tried this compressor. When it is running my refrigerator is almost as loud as it. It appears to be very well built, is very good looking (according to my wife) and is just what I needed for my business. If you are looking for a medium size, quiet running compressor I would highly recommend this one.

I am a professional cabinetmaker and I was looking for a compressor to run nail guns and staplers. Having been on job sites with similar size compressors in use i wanted to avoid the additional noise one would bring into my shop. The "Quietzone" is aptly named. It is extremely quiet relative to any other compressor I've been around (and that's quite a few). Any carpenter who has been in the shop when it cycles has been amazed.
When I first set up the unit (basically take it out of the box and switch it on) I noticed it cycled more often than I thought necessary, but after a few weeks of use it seems to have "broken in" and now it works beautifully, effortlessly driving 2" 16 gauge brads and 1 1/2" staples into hardwood.
Another plus is the aluminum tanks and the relative light weight of the unit making it very easy to take to a job site.
5.) Very Quiet But Capable Compressor

I'm not a compressor expert, but I'm really happy with this as a quiet home compressor. I was amazed that compressors were so noisy, so I wanted one that was super quiet, no maintenance, and had okay airflow for household inflation and air nailers. So far, this has worked great.
6.) Compressor still new - service a JOKE!

I had a question regarding air-leak/noise and it took over 15 minutes on hold to talk to a live body and they were USELESS! They took my name and phone number and said a "technician" would call me back, but NO CALLBACK EVER received!
I sincerely hope I do NOT NEED them in the future.
